The majority of Aspercreme® products contain lidocaine at 4% concentration. However, Aspercreme® Pain Relieving Creme contains trolamine salicylate at 10% concentration, while Aspercreme® Warming Gel and Aspercreme® Warming Patch contain capsaicin at 0.025% concentration. Please refer to the product drug facts label on the package for active ingredient information.

Lidocaine is a local anesthetic or numbing medication that works by blocking nerve signals at the site of pain. Topical lidocaine is used to temporality relieve minor pain. Aspercreme® products contain 4% Lidocaine, which is the maximum concentration allowed for over-the-counter (OTC) topical analgesics.

Aspercreme does not contain aspirin. Aspirin is a salicylate, closely related to trolamine salicylate, the active ingredient in Aspercreme® Pain Relieving Creme. If you are allergic to aspirin, consult your doctor before using Aspercreme® Pain Relieving Creme.
